The Tecline LED light T4900 is a compact dive torch rated at 4900 lumens. It is designed to work as either a primary or a backup light, and its built-in overheat protection means you can also use it on land, at home or in the car.

Light output and controls

Three SFT-25R LEDs produce a tight 5 degree beam at 6500 K. There are three power levels, 100, 50 and 20 percent, delivering 4900, 1800 and 450 lumens. A single button does everything: press and hold to switch on or off, a short press to change mode, and a double press for SOS. Holding the button for three seconds while the torch is off locks it, so it will not switch on by accident in your bag.

Battery and charging

Power comes from one rechargeable 21700 Li-ion cell, which has its own USB-C charging port. A red indicator shows while it charges and turns green when it is full. On the torch, an LED shows the remaining charge: green from 30 to 100 percent, red from 10 to 30 percent and flashing red below 10 percent. Burn time is about 90 minutes on high, 170 minutes on medium and 600 minutes on low.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use the T4900 as my primary light?

Yes. It is designed as both a primary and a backup torch. With a narrow 5 degree beam and 4900 lumens on high, it has enough punch to lead the way on recreational dives.

Which battery does it take?

Only a 21700 Li-ion cell between 3.0 and 4.2 V. Other battery types can damage the torch and void the warranty. A spare cell is worth packing on dive trips.

Can I run it out of the water?

Yes, thanks to its overheat protection. Just do not leave it running unattended, and never shine it straight into anyone's eyes.

What warranty does it have?

You get two years of warranty from the date of purchase, with proof of purchase. Damage from misuse, poor maintenance or a flooded battery compartment is not covered.
